  • How many solvent extraction plants & Veg Oil Refineries are there?
  • We have designed over 30 solvent extraction plants and veg oil refineries during the last 10 years. All these plants are known for their process efficiencies, product qualities, and consistent operation. Our Seed preparation plants are totally dust-free and designed to ensure consistent quality.
  • What are solvent extraction plants used for?
  • The solvent extraction plants are used where oil is extracted from oil seeds like soybean, sunflower, cottonseed, other oil seeds and oil cakes like mustard cake, groundnut cake and rice bran. Plant Capacity : Upto 2500 TPD
  • What solvents are used in oil refining?
  • Common and suitable solvents are phenol, furfural and sulphur dioxide. Furfural is used extensively as the extractant for the refining of paraffinic oils. This results in base stocks that are neutral oils and an extract fluid that is rich in aromatic content, which is used for process oils and fuel oils.
  • How does a solvent extraction process work?
  • The extract stream containing the bulk of the solvent exits the bottom of the extraction tower and is routed to the recovery section for the removal of solvent from this stream. The solvent is separated from the extract phase by multiple effect evaporation at various pressures followed by vacuum flashing and steam stripping under vacuum.
  • How does vmets' solvent extraction process work?
  • VMETS’ Solvent Extraction Process effectively improves typical recovered oil by: dramatically improving oil color from ASTM 4.0 – 7.0 (medium to dark amber), down to ASTM less than 1.0 – 1.5 (pale to light gold) significantly enhancing base oil stability (no color deterioration or gum formation in storage)
  • How is oil extracted from raw materials?
  • After the extraction process, the materials are fed onto a conveyor through a hopper. There, it forms a solid bed, not allowing solvent vapours to escape. Entire extraction process is carried out in different stages until almost 95% of the original content of oil is extracted from the raw materials.
